How do I convert an MP4 or GIF to a Telegram video sticker?

Drop the file into the converter on this page, pick where the 3-second clip starts and press Convert. You get a VP9 WEBM with no audio, one side exactly 512 px and under 256 KB. Upload it to @Stickers with /newvideo.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The converter is ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly and runs inside your browser tab. The video is never sent to a server; you can switch off the internet after the converter has loaded and it still works.

Why is my sticker rejected by @Stickers?

Usually the file was sent as a video instead of as a file, so Telegram re-encoded it to MP4. Send the .webm with paperclip → File. Other causes are clips over 3 seconds, audio tracks or files over 256 KB; this converter removes all three.

How do I make a Telegram custom emoji from a video?

Choose “Emoji 100×100”. The clip is cropped to a square, scaled to exactly 100×100 px and kept under 64 KB. Upload it to @Stickers with /newemojipack → Video emoji. Using custom emoji in chats needs Telegram Premium.

Can it remove the background?

Not in the browser: cutting out a subject on every frame needs an AI model that is too heavy for a web page. Send the same video to @WigglePackBot in Telegram and it returns the sticker with the background removed, a white outline, already added to your own pack.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in a recent Chrome, Safari or Firefox. The converter is a one-time ~31 MB download, then it is cached. A 3-second clip takes 10–60 seconds depending on the phone.
